Lembaga Penelitian dan Pengabdian Masyarakat (LPPM) LSPR – Jakarta in cooperation with Badan Narkotika Nasional (BNN) DKI Jakarta held a Public Speaking Training for publics again after the last successful training at BNN East Jakarta.
This time, LPPM LSPR had an opportunity to give Public Speaking Training for Anti-Drugs activists in BNN North Jakarta, as the part of Facilitator Socialization about P4GN (Pencegahan Pemberantasan Penyalahgunaan dan Peredaran Gelap Narkoba) Policy implementation in North Jakarta area.
The training that was held on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at Hotel All Sedayu Kelapa Gading was attended by approximately 30 people from North Jakarta’s RPTRA (Ruang Publik Terpadu Ramah Anak). LSPR – Jakarta’s trainers were Mr. Mikhael Yulius Cobis, M.Si and Mr. Rafiuddin Akil, M.Si.
All participants actively participate in Public Speaking Training, including presentation on general knowledge about public speaking, then continued with role plays and discussion.
The main purpose of this Public Speaking Training was to train the Anti-Drug activists to be able to convey information about the dangers of drugs use with simple and interesting explanation, so that it can motivate and let people around the environment know about the dangers of drugs and can assertively say no to drugs.
The trainers who are lecturers from LSPR – Jakarta shared 10 tips and tricks of Public Speaking to overcome the anxiety during the presentation and give a memorable as well as useful presentation.
During Role Plays session, participants are asked to give a short presentation on the dangers of drugs with Public Speaking techniques they’ve learned before, and then trainers will conduct an evaluation to improve their public speaking skills.
In order to prevent and avoid drugs abuse, BNN formed anti-drug volunteers who are in charge of socializing the dangers of drugs to the public. To support the anti-drug addicts in carrying out their duties as extension agents BNN, North Jakarta in cooperation with LPPM LSPR – Jakarta feel the need to provide this public speaking training. The training was lasted in 2 hours and all participants seems happy and ready to implement their public speaking skills to be BNN’s anti-drugs extension agents.
