Indonesia and Australia are de-facto neighbours but they live in a two different world. Never since East Timor crisis in 1999 that the two countries face a serious diplomatic issue as it is now. With crisis escalates (diplomatically) by day, it is interesting to see how and what role the media played. This was the topic that brought by Ari W. Poespodihardjo, Ph.D, on our afternoon discussion, which is continuation of his PhD research in 2007.
The open and warm discussion was held on Tuesday, November 26th, 2013. Lecturers and students discuss together on the role of Australian and Indonesian media in political conflict and the various factors at play, from David Jenkins to SBY – Howard Political cartoon, and also the current phone spying issue, which escalates again the conflict between Indonesia-Australia.
