The Role of Community Relations Program in Telecommunication Company with Fiber-optic- Based Technology in Improving Internet Customer Trust (Descriptive Study on the Internet Subsidy of Biznet Networks)

This study discusses about the role of Community Relations programs in telecommunications companies with fiber-optic-based technology to improve customer trust in the company. The research was conducted in Biznet Networks headquarters which located in Building Midplaza Sudirman, Jakarta. Biznet as a telecommunications service provider based on fiber optic technology carrying a Community Relations strategy in increasing customer’s trust and confidence on their company by improving public understanding on the benefits of fiber optic technology. One of their program is internet subsidies program which targeted to High Schools which located in Jakarta. The aim of this study is to find out the process of planning and organizing of the program and to evaluate the obstacles which encountered as well as the efforts to overcome the obstacles in reaching the company’s goal. Corporate Communication Division in this case, plays an important role on the implementation of the Internet subsidy program as their functions and tasks to enhance the positive image of the company to the external Public. This study uses primary and secondary data which collected through descriptive qualitative research methods. Researchers gained the primary data by conducting interviews with four speakers; three of them were people who participate in running the Internet subsidy program. In addition, by indepth interviews, researchers also get more data from books which related to the theory of Community Relations, the official site and other data to support the primary data. Based on the research results, researcher concludes that the role of Community Relations programs in the company as an effort to improve customer trust, has worked well and credible. Based on the result, researcher hopes with a better planning and coordination, the program will bring a maximum result in the future and can be used to increase public awareness broader to the fiber-optic based company.
