The 8th Internet Governance Forum (IGF) held in Bali, on October 22-25th 2013, is an annual open forum for multi-stakeholder dialogue on public policy. This is a global event where the Internet governance community, ranging from civil society, government and industry, exchanged best practices and discussed a wide range of key topics suach as Internet sustainability, security and development.
The Research Centre team, along with LSPR academic faculty member (Ms. Olivia Hutagaol as team leader), News Dept editorial member (Ms. Aprida Sihombing) and students (Maria A. Inkiriwang, Okky Alparessi and Nadia Maharani), proudly take part as the editorial member of IGF 2013 Daily News. The Daily News is the publication run by IGF Indonesia, in the form of daily print newsletter and news website (http://daily.igf2013.or.id) which cover the whole event of 8th Internet Governance Forum. This is a very challenging job, where the LSPR team has to take role as a journalist and doing media coverage, reporting events, writing and editing news content until it is ready to publish. While doing the editorial job, the RC team also take opportunity to observe interesting topics brought in discussions and workshops under subthemes in human rights, youth as digital citizen, cybercrime, Internet control and freedom of expression, which had been shared by governments, private sectors and civil society organizations from more than 100 different countries in the world.
