ABSTRACT

In preparation to improve the competence of the world of work, the development of hard skills and soft skills needs to be done, for example through an organization or community. The role of the organization is used as a training ground, such as developing hard skills and soft skills for members of PERHUMAS Muda Yogyakarta, which is a young generation organization that has an interest in public relations sciences and has been established for 6 years. PMY is a forum for the preparation of the younger generation which is triggered by the hard skills and soft skills of each member. In this study, the barriers to the role of members in developing hard skills and soft skills are also the main topic of discussion. Using a qualitative descriptive method, the researcher conducted in-depth interviews and combined them with books relevant to this topic. In this study, the researcher found that PMY’s soft skills competency was more significant than hard skills. The researcher concludes that the role of PMY members is ready to be competent in the world of work later. Barriers and solutions in PMY can be resolved more focused,
