ABSTRACT
This research is conducted due to many reports about the trial verdict of DKI Jakarta’s former governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok) who allegedly did religious blasphemy. The purpose of this research is to find out different angles of news and how two online medias Liputan6.com and Republika.co.id frame their stories on Ahok’s verdict. This research uses the framing theory. The research method used was the framing theory of Zhongdang Pan and Gerald M. Kosicki which consists of the syntax, script, thematic and rethoric. The researcher observed 10 articles from Liputan6.com and 10 articles from Republika.co.id. From the research results of both media, it can be concluded that there is a difference between the angles of each media. Liputan6.com did a framing that is in contradiction with Ahok’s verdict, whereas Republika.co.id did a framing which sides with Ahok’s verdict.
